Graduate Student Scholarships and Grants


For graduate students


Nanjing University’s Graduate Student Scholarships and Grants in 2016 are as follows:

  • The “National Grants,” set up by the university, at 6,000 yuan per person per year for full-time graduate students admitted through the national graduate student enrollment plan

  • The “Academic Scholarships,” set up by the university, of three grades, ranging from 6,000 to 12,000 yuan per person per year

  • The “National Scholarships,” set up by the State Ministry of Education, at 20,000 yuan per person per year


In addition, the university has various sponsored scholarships and offers part-time jobs in teaching/research assistantship and student management.


For students with financial difficulties, the university may help them apply for loans from the Bank of China or China Development Bank, at a maximum of 12,000 per person per year.


For doctoral students


Nanjing University’s Doctoral Student Scholarships and Grants in 2016 are as follows:

  • The “National Grants,” set up by the university for full-time doctoral students, at 16,800 to 24,000 yuan per person per year

  • The “Academic Scholarships,” set up by the university, of three grades, ranging from 8,000 to 18,000 yuan per person per year

  • The “National Scholarships,” set up by the State Ministry of Education, at 30,000 yuan per person per year


If a student from another university is accepted by a Nanjing University “Distinguished Professor” with exemptions from the entrance examinations, he or she will receive a new-student “Special Scholarship by University President,” at 15,000 yuan per person.


The university has set up an Outstanding Doctoral Student’s Innovation Ability Enhancement Plan, the funding ranging from 42,000 to 80,000 yuan per person per year.


In addition, the university has various sponsored scholarships and offers part-time jobs in teaching/research assistantship and student management.
