In good health, with a valid passport, and completed undergraduate education or above
a. New HSK level 5 or above for liberal arts and business programs
b. New HSK level 4 or above for science programs and the program of Chinese Language
c. There is no Chinese proficiency requirement for applicants to programs taught in English.
Apply online first, and then mail all the following documents to the Institute for International Students of Nanjing University during the application period.
a. Application form for International Students of Nanjing University (generated automatically during online application, filled in Chinese or English and signed by the applicant)
b. Copy of undergraduate degree certificate or graduation certificate, or original document verifying the expected graduation for applicants who are yet to graduate
c. Copy of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners (for scholarship students)
d. Original or notarized copy of the full college academic transcript
e. Two letters of recommendation from professors in the academic area of study to which the applicant is applying
f. Copy of HSK certificate (not required for applicants who have received 12-year Chinese education in Malaysia and Singapore), or printed HSK score webpage (original certificate to be checked at registration)
Note:
Documents neither in Chinese nor in English should be supplemented with English or Chinese translations either provided by the issuing institution or properly notarized; the above-mentioned documents will not be returned.
a. Nanjing University mails the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW 202 form) to successful applicants from mid-May to June, and notifies the unsuccessful ones by fax or e-mail towards the end of June.
b. Admitted students apply for the X visa (student visa) at the Chinese embassy or consulate office.
c. Admitted students register at the Institute for International Students of Nanjing University within the required time period with the Admission Notice, JW202 Form, and the original copy of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners (since this examination record is valid for only 6 months and is required when applying for Residence Permit after entering China, please make proper arrangements concerning the timing of the physical examination).
d. Those who are unable to register on time shall submit written applications.

Tuition
¥19,000 per academic year for liberal arts programs
¥23,000 per academic year for science and business programs
¥30,000 per academic year for programs of the Software Institute
¥40,000 per academic year for programs of the Medical School
Payment should be made after the enrollment.
