Nanjing University has been admitting students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan since 1994. In 2005, the university started to admit students from Macao by recommendation, and in 2010, it started to admit Taiwan students according to their grades in the theory test. Since 2012, students from Hong Kong can be admitted according to their grades in the college graduation examination. Now, 124 students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan have registered in the university. Enrollment programs include:

Overseas Chinese applicant with long-term or permanent residency in a foreign country or having lived in a foreign country for more than 2 years in the past 4 years (9 months abroad in a year can be seen as 1 whole year, and studying and working abroad for public affairs are not included).
Students with the Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or Hong Kong Identity Card along with the Mainland travel permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents who have attended the 2016 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination with the points of 4,4,4,4, that is, those who achieve level 4 in the HKDSE Chinese language, English language, Mathematics, general education subjects, can apply to Nanjing University.
Students with the Macao Permanent Identity Card or Macao Identity Card along with the Mainland travel permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents whose consolidated scores in the high school period are among the top 10% can apply to Nanjing University.
High school students from Taiwan graduating in the year 2016 from Taiwan high schools or mainland schools for Taiwan students whose score in the theory test reached the top level can apply to Nanjing University.

Tuition and accommodation fees for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are consistent with those for mainland students. The tuition is 5,200 to 6,380 yuan per year (tuition of the 3rd and 4th year for software engineering is 16,000 yuan per year) and accommodation is 1,200 yuan per year.
The Student Financial Management Center (under the Student Affairs Office) is responsible for the scholarships of undergraduates during their university years.
The university now has 30 university scholarships, more than 30 departmental scholarships and 42 grant programs. Eligible students can apply.
In addition, the university has a special scholarship for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The first class is 5,000 yuan per year, the second 4,000 and the third 3,000.
