Course Objectives:
This course is offered to undergraduate students in the third and fourth years who major in physical geography, remote sensing and GIS, and other related disciplines. It will cover the basic principles of land surface remote sensing, spectral signatures of land targets, satellite sensors, methods for retrieving land surface parameters using optical and thermal remote sensing data, and applications of these parameters to studying land surface processes.

Course Assessment:
The assessment of student performance will be made according to a mid-term and a final exam, class participation and assignments. Their percentages are assigned as follows:
1. Class participation (10%)
2. Mid-term exam (20%)
3. Assignments (30%)
4. Final exam (40%)
