Lv Xiaobo

Lv Xiaobo got his Ph.D. in History (1993) from the East China Normal University. He joined the faculty of Nanjing University right after graduation. Currently, he is a professor at the School of Government. Dr. Lv was also affiliated with the Hopkins-Nanjing Center from 2003 to 2012.

Dr. Lv’s research mainly focuses on political development in modern China, Contemporary Chinese government and politics. He is the author of a series of books including Mass Media in China’s Early Modernization (1995) published by Shanghai Joint Publishing House; History of Political Development in Modern China (2003) published by Higher Education Press; The Formation and Evolution of Democratic Values in Modern China---- a History of Ideas (2011) published by Jiangsu People’s Press. Dr. Lv also edited a popular textbook Contemporary Chinese Government and Chinese Politics (2010) published by Higher Education Press.

Dr. Lv has been actively involved in academic exchanges at home and abroad. He is currently the Vice President of Jiangsu Political Science Association and Specialist for the Standing Committee of Jiangsu People’s Congress.
