Nanjing University held the opening ceremony of the 57th “Hisense Cup” Sports Meet in the stadium of Xianlin Campus on November 4.
Vice president Wang Zhilin chaired the ceremony, and many other school leaders attended.
At the opening ceremony, the national flag parade, the bouquet parade as well as athletes from 28 different departments marched in step by the reviewing platform. All departments gave performance such as singing, dancing, martial arts, sitcoms and so on.
The students from the School of Journalism and Communication gave a brilliant hip-hop dancing performance.
Those from the School of Astronomy and Space Science simulated the supernova explosion.
The School of Foreign Studies sang songs from different countries.
The School of Liberal Arts and School of History gave a classic costume show.
The performances not only showed the confidence of the athletes to win matches but also displayed the sports spirit of optism and determination.
During the two-day sports competitions, the athletes competed in such events as running, jumping, hurdling, and discus throwing. The traditional games such as bag jumping added fun to the sports meet.
Finally, the School of Business won the first prize in both the men’s and women’s team events; the Software Institute the second; and the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering the third.
