Wang Hao

Wang Hao studied for a BS in Information Management and Information System at Nanjing University between 1999 and 2003.

In 2003 he was recommended for admission to study for an MA in Library and Information Science at Nanjing University. He graduated in advance in 2005 and then stayed at Nanjing University to complete his PhD on the information intelligent processing and retrieval between 2005 and 2008.

After obtaining PhD he stayed at Nanjing University as Lecturer in Library and Information Science. In December 2010 he was promoted to Associate professor and in September 2011 he was listed as a master tutor. He teaches predominantly in the areas of data warehouse and data mining, information system analysis and design, information system development tools.

Wang Hao is a key member of Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Data Engineering and Knowledge Service (Nanjing University), Jiangsu Zijin Media Think Tank and the Research Institute on Information Technology Development of Nanjing University. In addition, he is a reviewing expert of the journals of New Technology of Library and Information Service, Computer Engineering and Science and so on. As a professional researcher, he is mainly engaged in information intelligent processing and retrieval, the semantic web and ontology construction and application, science evaluation and citation analysis.

Naturally, he made some important achievements in his research areas. He was honored with the “BC (Bank of China) Award” of Nanjing University (2011), won the Second Prize of the 12th Outstanding Achievement in Humanities and Social Sciences of Jiangsu Province (2012), listed as a training object of the third level in the fourth period of “333 high-level talents training project” (2013), and awarded with “Jiangsu Young Talent in Social Science” (2014). His studies have been funded by two national projects and two provincial projects. He has also published dozens of academic works, including more than 10 first-class journal articles and several academic articles indexed by EI/ISTP.
