Feng Xiaotian

In 1987 and 1990, Feng Xiaotian got his MA and PhD in Sociology at Peking University.

From 1990 to 1994, he worked as an assistant professor and then a full professor of Sociology at the Huazhong Normal University. There he took up a post as the Chair of Political Science Department and Vice Dean of the Law and Business College.

From 1995 to 2001, he took up a post as full professor and the Chair of Sociology Department and Dean of Art College at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

From 2001 till now, he has been the Distinguished Professor and supervisor of doctoral students at Nanjing University.

He teaches research methods, family sociology, and youth sociology. His research areas include Chinese only child problem, family sociology, population, and youth sociology. He has got several founding on Chinese “one child” policy, population, three Gouges’ Migration, older care support and so on. He is the reviews editor for Chinese Social Science (CSS), Sociology Study (SS), Society and other journals.
