Zhang Sheng
Professor Zhang Sheng was born in June 1969 in Tianchang, Anhui Province. He received his Ph.D degree in history from Nanjing University in 1994. Now he serves as Dean of the School of History, Nanjing University. In addition, he also serves as the Vice-President of Nanjing Historical Society, Vice-President of the Research Society on the History of Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders and Vice-President of Sanya Tanka Cultural Association in Hainan Province. He took a temporary post as Deputy-Mayor of Wuzhishan of Hainan Province from December 2012 to December 2013.
Prof. Zhang’s research fields include the history of the Republic of China, history of Nanjing Massacre and the modern maritime history of East Asia. Till now, he has published over 60 academic papers in the journals such as Historical Research, authored or co-authored over ten books like the Studies on the History of Nanjing Massacre (Two Volumes), Studies on the Relationship between the Japanese Army and the Puppet Army from 1937-1945, Revenues of Nanjing Nationalist Government from 1927-1937,etc.He is also Deputy Editor of A Collection of the Historical Materials Relating to Nanjing Massacre.
