Wu Jun


Professor Wu Jun was born in Shanghai in 1962. He earned his BA degree from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Fudan University in 1984, and then he got both MA and Ph.D degree from East China Normal University respectively in 1986 and 1990. Prof. Wu is a Ph.D supervisor and a Chair Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars Program. He also serves as Vice-Dean of the Graduate School of Nanjing University, Deputy Director of the Center for Research of Chinese New Literature of Nanjing University and the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences sponsored by the Ministry of Education, and a member of the Discipline Appraisal Group in the 7th Academic Degree Committee of the State Council.

  

Prof. Wu’s research fields cover the studies on Lu Xun, the contemporary Chinese literary system, contemporary Chinese literature communication, modern and contemporary literary criticism, etc. He has achieved great success in the fields of the history of the modern and contemporary Chinese literary criticism, and his work has been awarded the first prize in Jiangsu Provincial Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences, and achieved the Award for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements (Humanities & Social Sciences) of Higher Education Institutions by the Ministry of Education. In addition, he has been selected into the “Support Program for the New Century Outstanding Talents” by the Ministry of Education.
