Xu Xingwu

Xu Xingwu, born in 1964, received his BA(1987) , MA (1990) and PhD (1993) from Nanjing University. He is now serving as a professor of the school of Liberal Arts at Nanjing University. From 2000-2001 he served as visiting scholar of Harvard-yenching Institute. From 2013，he served as the Dean of the school. His mainly rsearch interest focuses on the History of Ancient Chinese Literature and the History of Ancient Chinese Thinking and Academic. He is the author of apocrypha (chenwei) and the Cultural construction of Han Dynasty (《讖緯文獻與漢代文化構建》, Beijing: The Zhonghua Press,2003), The critical biography of Liu Xiang (《劉向評傳》, Nanjing University Press,2005), Mencius (《孟子》, Nanjing University Press,2008),The Thinking and Academic system of Confucian classics in Han Dynasty (《經緯成文—漢代經學的思想與制度》, Nanjing:Fenghuang Press,2015).His latest study work is about the history of Confucian classics. At Nanjing University ,he offers courses about Ancient Chinese Literature Study （中国古代文学史), Study of Zhuo Zhau(《左传》研究).
