Xu Yanping
Xu Yanping (PhD, Nanjing University) is a professor in the School of Liberal Arts. He completed a Master of Science in Library and Information Management Program in Nanjing University in 1997 and a PhD in Literature Program in 2002 in the same university. In 2002, Xu started to teach at School of Liberal Arts in Nanjing University as a lecturer. In 2013, he was promoted as a professor in Chinese classics studies. His field of research covers the history of literature and the social history of the Chinese book in late imperial China. Literature families and books and literature in Qing China are the current focus of his research. Xu has published over 50 research papers and 4 books. Among the 4 books are Academies, Scholarship, and Literature in Southeast China in Qing Dynasty (2007) and Literary Families and Literary Traditions in Qing Dynasty (2012). He co-edited the 201-volume Series of Family Anthologies in Qing Dynasty (2015) with Zhang Jian, and is the author of General Catalogue for the Family Anthologies in Qing Dynasty, which is about to be published in 2017.
