The Nanjing University delegation, headed by University Vice Chancellor Zhu Qingbao, visited Pakistan between September 11 and 14 at the invitation of University of the Punjab and Bahauddin Zakriya University, in an effort to carry out cooperation in teaching, research and personnel cultivation to answer the call of the Belt and Road initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The delegation attended the International Conference on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, held by University of the Punjab on the morning of September 11.
President Moin of University of the Punjab and Vice Chancellor Zhu Qingbao both delivered their welcome addresses at the conference, and Professors Yu Wenjie and Zhang Liangren of Nanjing University read their academic papers.
Present at the conference were more than 200 delegates from countries and regions in Europe and Asia.
After the conference, representatives of Nanjing University and University of the Punjab signed an all-around strategic memorandum on cooperation in teaching, research and personnel cultivation in order to answer the call of the Belt and Road initiative.

The Nanjing University delegation attended the academic forum on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, held by Bahauddin Zakriya University on the morning of September 13.
At the forum, President Tahir Amin of Bahauddin Zakriya University and Vice Chancellor Zhu Qingbao delivered their addresses, and Professors Yu Wenjie and Zhang Liangren gave their speechs respectively.
After the forum, Zhu and President Tahir Amin held an in-depth talk and signed a memorandum on the cooperation between the two universities.
During the visit, Zhu and the rest of the delegation met the parents of the students who are studying at Nanjing University.
The delegation also studied Pakistan’s cultural heritage and cultural relics and showed their appreciation for the value and significance of the Pakistani culture in the “Belt and Road” history.

The Pakistani universities attached much importance to the visit of Nanjing University.
During the visit, the two sides had in-depth discussions on the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor under the framework of the Belt and Road initiative, especially on cooperation in student and faculty exchange and in joint research in cutting-edge disciplines where the two sides are mutually complementary.
The visit marked a good start for the exchange and cooperation between Nanjing University and countries along the “Belt and Road,” promoted Nanjing University’s friendship with Pakistani university, and also encouraged Nanjing University to make its contributions to the research and development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
